KCET Applicaton form
medical/dental/engineering/architecture courses in the colleges and universities across Karnataka. The admission through KCET is open only to the Karnataka residents; however there are some seats under management quota which are for the non Karnataka students. These institutes have fixed number of seats for all the courses and the competition is quite tough.
Popularity of Karnataka Common Entrance Test: This entrance exam is considered to be amongst the toughest exam that candidates have to qualify for their upcoming future. Every year candidates from various parts of the country are filling the forms and giving good response. This exam is one of the best ways to get the top ranking colleges/institutes of Karnataka. Karnataka CET consists of examinations for four subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology & Mathematics. Candidates who want to get admission in Engineering courses appear for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Those who want admission in medical/dental courses appear for Physics, Chemistry and Biology exams. The candidates who want admission in B. Arch should have given NATA on whose basis admission to B.Arch is conducted.
Eligibility criteria: For Medical/Dental Courses: A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% aggregate marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply. Also a candidate should have attained the age of 17 years but not more than 25 years as on 31st December, 2011.
For Engineering Courses: A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Mathematics and any of the Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in optional subjects(40% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply.
For Architecture Course: A candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in all the subjects (45% for SC/ST/OBC). Those who are appearing for class 12th exams in 2011 can also apply. Candidates should have also appeared in NATA and got a minimum of 40% marks in it.
Availability of Application forms: The forms for Karnataka CET will be available in schools and colleges of the Karnataka CET. For those residing outside Karnataka the form can be obtained by post from KEA by sending a Demand Draft along with the request for form.
Important Dates: Date of Entrance Examination: last week of April, 2011 Last Date for Availability of Application Forms from schools/colleges: 2nd week of March, 2011 last Date for Availability of Application Forms by post: 2nd week of April, 2011
Examination scheme: There will be separate papers for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Each paper will consist of 60 objective type questions and will be of 80 minutes duration. |

Structure og COMEDK
A combined paper including Physics and Chemistry is there for the candidates appearing in CMEDK UGET. Mathematics paper is compulsory for the candidates seeking Engineering courses. Biology is a mandatory subject for those in MBBS& BDS. Combined Physics and Chemistry exam will be held at 10.00 am to 12.00 pm. The duration for this paper is 120 minutes. Mathematics and Biology exams will be conducted on the same day in the afternoon. No negative marking is there for this examination. Eligibility Criteria for CMEDK UGET Candidates who have passed Plus Two or equivalent are eligible for appearing in the examination. Those candidates waiting for the results of Plus Two are also eligible to write examination. How to apply for CMEDK UGET? Candidates can fill the application forms from the official site of COMEDK. The website is www.comedk.org . This can be done only after drawing a DD of Rs. 800/- for 3 subjects and Rs. 1000/- for 4 subjects. The draft and related application documents should be sent on or before 3rd week of April. How to fill the form of CMEDK UGET? Application is to be filled according to the instructions given in the website www.comedk.org. The results can be downloaded from the website http://www.comedk.org/. Cutoff Marks Cutoff mark is different for different Universities and for in different stream of courses. For Engineering it can vary from 60-70% and in medical it is 65-90%. The cutoff can change according to the overall performance of the students and to the available number of seats. Score Validity The score validity is one year( for the academic Year). |
